Hey everybody, David Taylor here, founder and CEO of DTD – back with another video to help you through the process of digital transformation.

We’ve been talking about the different stages of the buyer’s journey. I want to go a little deeper into the decision stage, and talk a bit about automated lead nurturing tactics— it’s the best way to keep your marketing working all day, every day. One way to get 24/7 automated lead tracking and nurturing is with a software called Hubspot. You start by placing a little piece of code on your company’s website that tracks website visitors. If a potential customer visits your website and downloads a piece of content— whether it’s a PDF, a white paper, or anything you put out there as part of their buyer’s journey, the system can track them.

Tracking is helpful for a lot of reasons. For instance, it can let you know the moment someone comes back to your website for another visit. There’s a lot you can do with this information. For instance, you can trigger automated emails to get sent to your prospects after they visit your website or return to your website again and again. Or, for instance, when the prospect comes back for another visit, the system can trigger a note to your sales team so they can call the prospect personally – since we know there is intent and interest at that moment. Or, once the prospect arrives at your site, the system can automatically send them promotional material and discount offers, straight to their email. The best part, once automatic lead tracking is set up, you’re good to go. Your marketing is now working for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week, without any human interaction. The emails appear to come from you, so the prospect doesn’t even know it was automated.
